Privacy Policy

SportsPandits ("we", "us", "our") provides an app and website that record cricket batting practice, analyze technique using computer vision and AI, and report the results back to you. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with.

Information we collect

Account information: your name, email address, phone number, and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text).
Videos and analysis data: the batting practice videos you upload, and the technique data our computer vision pipeline extracts from them - pose/joint-angle measurements, shot classifications, and scores.
Subscription and payment data: which plan you're on, your usage (uploads/session count), and payment records (amount, plan, status, and the transaction identifiers returned by our payment processor, Razorpay). We do not collect or store your card, UPI, or bank account details - those are handled directly by Razorpay, a licensed payment aggregator, and never pass through our servers.
Contact form submissions: if you message us through the website, we collect the name, email, and message you provide.

How we use your information

To create and manage your account, and authenticate you when you log in.
To process your uploaded videos and generate your technique analysis and score reports.
To generate personalized coaching feedback. For this, we send OpenAI an aggregated summary of your session - overall and category scores, shot counts, and which shots were your best/worst - so it can write feedback text. We do not send your video, images, or any personally identifying information (name, email, phone) to OpenAI.
To process payments and activate the plan you purchased, via Razorpay.
To send you account-related emails (e.g. password reset codes) and respond to messages you send us.
To enforce the upload/duration limits of your subscription plan.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the service providers needed to run SportsPandits, and only what's needed for that purpose:

Razorpay - to process payments. Governed by Razorpay's own privacy policy.
OpenAI - to generate coaching feedback text, from aggregated scores only (see above).
Our email delivery provider - to send password reset codes and respond to contact form messages.
Our hosting provider - to store your account data, videos, and analysis results on the servers that run SportsPandits.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SportsPandits, our users, or others.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored on servers we operate, protected by industry-standard measures: passwords are hashed (never stored in plain text), all traffic between the app/website and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS), and access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using measures appropriate to its sensitivity.

Data retention

We retain your account, video, and analysis data for as long as your account is active, so you can keep reviewing your progress over time. If you'd like your account and data deleted, contact us using the details below and we'll remove it, except where we're required to retain records (e.g. payment records) for legal or accounting purposes.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. If you're located somewhere with specific data protection rights under local law (such as India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act), we'll honor requests consistent with those rights.

Children's privacy

SportsPandits is intended for players aged 13 and older. If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal information without your consent, contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as SportsPandits evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the app or website after a change means you accept the updated policy.
